Very good church; I use to attend until I moved out of the area.
There is truly a godly atmosphere here! The music was uplifting and worshipful. The people are kind and welcoming and the pastor is very personable. This is a fairly large church but I was impressed that the pastor stopped the service at one point to take time for us to pray for a prayer request that had been handed to him. He definitely seems to care personally for the congregation.
Although it is a large church it still manages to feel like a warm friendly local church. The staff is very kind and caring and Pastor Clarence Sexton truly loves his people. Temple is an Independent Fundamental Baptist Church that is KJV only and sings the old fashioned hymns of the faith. There is no "wealth and prosperity Gospel" preached here. All the messages are taken straight from the Bible and explained in a clear and simple manner. Temple is a very strong foreign mission minded church and will regularly give updates on the many overseas missionaries that they support. Local ministries here number well into the hundreds, some of the most prominent being bus, Spanish speaking, deaf, nursing home, and encouragement ministries.
There's not a better church in the world. Everything I am today is because of this place. I love Temple Baptist Church.
